Fans going to Vikings, Gophers or Twins games on transit this weekend can save time and money by purchasing round-trip fares in advance.
Twins fans will be sharing the ride with Gophers fans on Saturday, Sept. 19, and with Vikings fans on Sunday, Sept. 20. With more customers riding transit, post-game boarding may take more time than usual.
Fans can make boarding more efficient and avoid the hassle of buying a second fare after the game by purchasing round-trip fares or a 6-Hour Pass.
Individual and family round-trip passes are available for purchase through Metro Transit’s website and can be used to ride to and from the game on light rail and Northstar. A Northstar Family Pass provides discounted fares and can be used for two adults and up to three children (ages 6-17) or seniors (65+).
Fans can also purchase a 6-Hour Pass through Metro Transit’s website or from ticket machines at light-rail stations. A 6-Hour Pass provides unlimited light-rail and bus rides for six hours after purchase. An adult 6-Hour Pass is $3.50 for adults and $1.50 for youth, seniors, Medicare card holders and Mobility customers.
Any round-trip fare or 6-Hour Pass purchased online can be displayed on a mobile device as proof of fare payment.
Fans traveling to TCF Bank Stadium have several options, including:
> Light-rail: The METRO Green Line’s Stadium Village Station is immediately east of TCF Bank Stadium. Fans traveling from the south metro can park at the Blue Line’s Fort Snelling or 28th Avenue Park & Rides and transfer to the Green Line in downtown Minneapolis.
> Northstar: Special Northstar trips will serve Vikings home games throughout the season. Fans can park for free at Northstar stations, transfer to the Green Line at Target Field and take a 15-minute light rail ride to TCF Bank Stadium. Regular Northstar service is available on for Gophers fans (excluding the evening game on Saturday, Oct. 31).
> Bus: Local bus routes 2, 3, 6 and 16 stop at or near TCF Bank Stadium. Several local routes also connect with Green Line stations, allowing for easy and free transfers.
Twins fans can travel directly to Target Field on the Green and Blue lines, Northstar and several bus routes. The Twins Express also provides express bus service from the County Route 73 Park & Ride on I-394 in Minnetonka.
