B Line Project

B Line supporting bus network

Coming Saturday, June 14: METRO B Line will replace Route 21, with new/modified local routes

Starting June 14, the METRO B Line will begin service, replacing Route 21 with faster, more reliable bus rapid transit between Minneapolis and St. Paul along Lake Street, and Marshall and Selby avenues.

To provide local transit access along portions of the corridor, three new or modified local bus routes 27, 38, and 72, will launch the same day.

New or modified local routes

Route 27:

Offers hourly service connecting Uptown Transit Station to Lake Street & Minnehaha via Lake Street and 26th/28th streets.

Route 38:

Provides 30-minute service from Minnetonka to Highland Park/Veterans Home, replacing routes 23 and 612. Serves Opus, Hopkins, Uptown, South Minneapolis, Highland Park/Veterans Home, with service overlapping the B Line between Excelsior Boulevard and Lyndale Avenue primarily along Lake Street.
