Whether you’re headed to the start, the finish, or any point in between, transit is a convenient option that can meet your Twin Cities Marathon transportation needs. Here are a few things to know before you head out on a mission to PR or to cheer from the sidelines:
🏃Several METRO lines – including the Blue, Green, Orange, C and D lines – can be used to reach the starting line for the 10-mile and marathon near U.S. Bank Stadium. Several other routes serve downtown Minneapolis with trips arriving before 7 a.m.
🏃♀️ To get to the finish line on Sunday, take the METRO Green Line to the Capitol/Rice Street Station, the METRO B Line to the Selby & Dale Station (stops will be closed further to the east), the METRO Gold Line to downtown St. Paul, or one of several other local routes. (Note: There are free Park & Rides at several Gold Line stations; paid parking is available at Union Depot.)
🏃Several bus routes will be temporarily detoured due to road closures. Visit our Alerts page for the latest information. Delays are also possible: Track buses in real-time using NexTrip or the Transit app.
🏃♀️ Runners: Your bib is your fare, so no need to stop at ticket machines – just board and keep on keeping on. For those who need a fare, download our app and purchase an All-Day Pass to ride as often as you need to for just $2 to $4.
