Quarterly service changes begin Aug. 20

On Saturday, Aug. 20, Metro Transit will make changes to transit service throughout the metro. As we do each quarter, we analyze our resources and ridership trends. Metro Transit continues to face unprecedented driver shortages, resulting in cancelled trips that inconvenience customers. These service adjustments will help balance customer demand with our limited resources, ideally leading to fewer cancelled trips.

We will maintain the reliability of our scheduled service using these criteria:

  • Evaluate service changes with an eye towards reducing impact on communities of color and low income
  • Identify service where customers have an alternative (route, frequency or auto)
  • Minimize ridership impact
  • Preserve frequent transit service where most needed

Transit Information is available by phone (612-373-3333) and text (612-444-1161) Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and at Service Centers in downtown St. Paul and Minneapolis – hours and locations here.  Customer Relations is available by phone (612-373-3333) and online Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
