In early May, Metro Transit began having issues with the NexTrip via Text service, which is provided by an outside vendor. We have since learned that this vendor is no longer able to support the service.
This affects several transit agencies across the U.S. that use a shared short code to provide real-time information by text. Please note that this affects the NexTrip via Text service ONLY. All other NexTrip tools continue to work as expected. Customers can access NexTrip on metrotransit.org, via the Metro Transit app, Show My Bus or by calling 612-373-3333.
As one of our most popular customer information tools, Metro Transit is committed to providing this service. As we work to implement a long-term, stable solution for NexTrip via Text, we have enabled a new number to use for our NexTrip via Text service.
