Planning History

Station Plan Amendment #1

In April 2022, Metro Transit completed an amendment recommending two changes to the D Line Station Plan. This plan amendment updates the D Line Station Plan as follows:

  • A new station at Osseo Road & 47th Avenue will be constructed in coordination with the Osseo Road reconstruction project led by Hennepin County, which is scheduled to begin construction in 2023.

  • The permanent southbound platform location at Portland Avenue & 77th Street will be constructed in the southwest corner of the intersection in coordination with changes to Portland Avenue as part of the I-494: Airport to Hwy 169 project led by MnDOT, which is scheduled to begin construction in 2023.

The Metropolitan Council approved these changes in a Station Plan amendment in April 2022. Both changes will be implemented as future modifications after D Line operations begin later in 2022.

Final Station Plan

Metro Transit completed a Final D Line Station Plan to identify locations for enhanced D Line stations before project engineering began. The Metropolitan Council approved this plan on July 25, 2018. The Final Station Plan establishes two core components: the station intersection and the location of platforms within that intersection and incorporated feedback from the Draft Station Plan (Feb. 2018) and Recommended Station Plan (May 2018).
