Expanding speed, keeping you moving faster and more reliably
Metro Transit and local partners are expanding the use of transit advantages to improve the speed and reliability of our service across the region. Examples include bus lanes, signal technology, and a variety of other tactics.
Many of these improvements are being made as Metro Transit expands our network of bus rapid transit (BRT) lines. Three new METRO BRT lines opened in 2025 – the Gold Line, the B Line, and the E Line. Other recent efforts include the addition of bus lanes on segments of Hennepin and Lyndale avenues and Lake Street, among other corridors.
