New faster service to the East Side! Go directly to the airport or Mall of America from Maplewood and points on Maryland Ave. and Arcade St. in St. Paul. The expanded Route 54, with faster service between downtown St. Paul and Maplewood Mall Transit Center and Park & Rides, will begin on June 9. The new route extension will cut down on the need for transfers in downtown St. Paul and save time on your way to the airport and back. In addition to the expanded service, trip frequency will be every 20 minutes during rush hours and every 30 minutes during off-peak hours and on Saturdays. New shelters will also be installed at select bus stops and existing shelters will receive lighting and heating improvements. Route 54 flyer Route 54 Airport Stop Relocation Due to construction at Terminal 1, Route 54 buses will serve an interim stop through early 2020. The interim bus stop features an indoor waiting area with transit information and seating. Buses arriving from St. Paul/Mall of America Enter the terminal and take the escalator down two levels to access airline ticketing counters. To access the METRO Blue Line, take the tram and go down another level to the ticket machines/card readers. From the terminal to buses bound for St. Paul/Mall of America From the Ground Transportation area, follow signs for the Gold Ramp. Go up two levels to the waiting area. Bus stop is located across the pedestrian crossing from the building (look for the bus shelter).
