Renew the Blue Outreach

Franklin Avenue Station Renovation

The Franklin Avenue Station renovation project is part of the Renew the Blue system restoration initiative and will help it remain a safe, reliable, and affordable transit option for many years to come. The designs will prioritize the use of durable and energy-efficient materials which will help extend the life of station's investment and increase its sustainability. The project also will modernize the station, enhancing its service to the community through improved accessibility, a better customer experience, reduced maintenance, and increased connectivity. As part of this effort, we are working with the community to assure the station's design reflects the neighborhood and the people it serves.

Phase 1 Engagement Summary

Franklin Avenue Station Open House #1 Recap

In December 2025, we welcomed nearly 70 community members to our open house at the Minneapolis American Indian Center to learn more about the upcoming Franklin Avenue Station Renovation project. Attendees shared thoughtful and meaningful feedback around station design, safety, and accessibility—insights that will play an important role in shaping the next phase of this project.

We appreciate and thank everyone who took the time to participate, ask questions, and voice their priorities as we work toward creating a safer, more welcoming, and more accessible station for all.
