On Dec. 6, Metro Transit made changes to transit service throughout the metro. As always, these quarterly service changes are being made to ensure we’re providing reliable service that meets your needs.
These quarterly changes are also informed by Network Now, a Met Council endorsed framework which incorporated customer feedback, helping strengthen our service through 2027.
Some highlights this quarter include:
- METRO E Line opens!
- New Routes 36, 345, 725, and 827 (replacing 852) will begin service.
- Route 156 will be restored.
- Schedule and routing adjustments on several routes due to end of construction season.

METRO Red Line (PDF)
- Schedule will be adjusted to reflect actual travel time.
METRO D Line (PDF)
- Schedule will be adjusted due to Portland Ave. construction and to reflect actual travel time.
- Trip times will be adjusted for consistent daily schedules.
METRO E Line (PDF) New service begins!
- METRO E Line begins service.
- Frequent all-day service along France Ave. S, 44th St, Hennepin Ave., University Ave. SE, and 4th St. SE between Southdale Transit Center and Westgate Station
ROUTE 2 (PDF)
- Schedule will be adjusted due to completion of I-94 and University Ave. construction.
- Route 2C terminal will move to 2nd Ave. SE at 7th St. SE.
- Timepoint at Riverside Ave. & 25th Ave. will be replaced by a new timepoint at 26th Ave. & Franklin Ave.
ROUTE 3 (PDF)
- Schedule will be adjusted due to completion of I-94 and University Ave. construction.
ROUTE 6
- Route will be discontinued and replace by the new METRO E Line.
- Service on Xerxes and south of Southdale will be renamed Route 36, traveling from Johnson Ave. & 78th St. to Uptown Transit Station.
ROUTE 7 (PDF)
- Schedule will be adjusted due to completion of I-94 construction and to reflect actual travel time.
- Timepoint at Riverside Ave. & 25th Ave. will be replaced by a new timepoint at 26th Ave. & Franklin Ave.
ROUTE 9 (PDF)
- Schedule will be adjusted due to completion of I-94 and Louisiana Ave. construction and to reflect actual travel time.
- Route 9N and 9C trips will be adjusted to serve each Westbound terminal on an hourly basis.
- Frequency on Sundays will increase to every 30 minutes, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

- Schedule will be adjusted due to completion of Hennepin Ave. S. construction.
ROUTE 22 (PDF)
- Schedule will be adjusted due to completion of I-94 construction.

- New route will serve Minneapolis and Edina.
- Route will travel from Johnson Ave. & 78th St. mostly via Xerxes Ave. to Uptown Transit Station, serving Southdale Transit Center.
- Route will connect with the new METRO E Line at Uptown Transit Station.
ROUTE 61 (PDF)
- Schedule will be adjusted due to completion of Arcade St. and Rice St. construction.
- Weekday westbound school day only trip departing 5th St. & 7th St. at 7:45 a.m. will depart Smith & 5th St. Station at 7:52 a.m., and the westbound school day only trip departing Johnson High School at 3:12 p.m. will depart at 3:10 p.m.
- Bus stop for school day only trips starting and ending Johnson High School will move to Arcade St. at Ivy Ave. in both directions.
- Timepoints at 5th St. & 7th St., 6th St. & 7th St. in downtown St. Paul will be replaced by new timepoints at Smith & 5th St. Station.
ROUTE 62 (PDF)

- All trips will start or end at Franklin Ave. Station. Route 67 will no longer travel on Franklin Ave. between Hiawatha Ave. and 14th Ave.
- Schedule will be adjusted due to completion of I-94 construction and to reflect actual travel time.
ROUTE 72 (PDF)
- Route will no longer serve Snelling Ave. and University Ave.
- Westbound trips will end at Hamline Ave. and University Ave.
- Eastbound trips will start at Pascal St and St Anthony Ave.

- New route between Mall of America and Woodlane Station in Woodbury; also service MSP airport, West St. Paul, and Newport.
- Service will run every hour between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. all days of the week.
ROUTE 355 (PDF)
- Schedule will be adjusted due to completion of I-94 construction.
ROUTE 363 (PDF)
- Schedule will be adjusted due to completion of I-94 construction.
- Timepoint at 5th St. & Sibley-Wacouta St. in downtown St. Paul will be replaced by new timepoint at 5th St & Sibley St. and service will move to new bus stop at 5th St. & Sibley St. for better accessibility.

ROUTE 645 (PDF)
- Route 645 B branch will be eliminated.
- Service via Ford Rd. will be eliminated – all trips will travel on Shelard Pkwy.
- General Mills Park & Ride will close.
- Earlier and later service will be added for Wayzata Park & Ride.
- Schedule will be adjusted to reflect actual travel time and provide more consistent trip times.

ROUTE 725 (PDF) New service begins
- New route between Northtown and downtown Osseo via Starlite Transit Center.
- Service will run every hour between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. all days of the week.
ROUTE 781 (PDF) Maple Grove Transit
- Two northbound trips and one southbound trip will be added to the schedule.
ROUTE 784 (PDF) Maple Grove Transit
- Schedule will be adjusted to reflect actual travel time.
ROUTE 789 (PDF) Maple Grove Transit
- One northbound trip and one southbound trip will be added to the schedule.

ROUTE 827 (PDF) New service begins!
- New route replaces Route 852 with service along Marshall St. NE and East River Rd. in northeast Minneapolis and Fridley.
- Route will serve Foley Park & Ride and Anoka Station on weekdays.
- Service frequency will be increased to every 60 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays.
- Service between downtown Minneapolis and Foley Park & Ride will be every 30 minutes during morning and afternoon rush hours.
ROUTE 852
- Route 852 will be replaced by Route 827 (see above).
