On Aug. 16, Metro Transit made changes to transit service throughout the metro. As always, these quarterly service changes are being made to ensure we’re providing reliable service that meets your needs.
These quarterly changes are also informed by Network Now, a Met Council endorsed framework which incorporated customer feedback, helping strengthen our service through 2027.
Some highlights this quarter include:
- Better Bus Route changes go into effect for Route 61!
- Routes 134 and 765 will be restored per Network Now framework.
- Frequency improvements on the following routes: 18, 61, 68, 80, 250, 534, 537, 538, 539, 546, 645, 673, 716, 760, 768 & 850.
- Metro Micro service begins in Bloomington area. Another new Metro Micro service zone will begin in Blaine area on Sept. 15.

ROUTE 3 (PDF)
- Four weekday evening 3E trips will be eliminated.
- Two late-evening 3E trips will begin from downtown Minneapolis instead of Anderson Hall.
ROUTE 6 (PDF)
- Downtown and 6U trips will extend to Westgate for all days of the week.
- 6E and 6F trips ending at France & Minnesota will be extended to start and end at 78th & Johnson.
- Southbound routing from Parklawn & Gallagher will be adjusted to match the current routing in the Northbound direction.
ROUTE 18 (PDF)
- Bus stop consolidation will go into effect between Franklin Ave. & Hwy. 62.
- Frequency will improve to every 10-minutes from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. all days of the week.
ROUTE 30 (PDF)
- Select trip times will be adjusted for improved connection to Route 61.
- New westbound trips added, departing Westgate Station on weekdays at 5:42 a.m., Saturdays at 8:12 a.m., and Sundays at 8:11 a.m.
ROUTE 33 (PDF)
- Saturday service will be discontinued due to low ridership.
ROUTE 61 (PDF)
- Better Bus Route changes will begin on route which adjusts routing, trip times, frequency and stop locations on entire route for improved reliability and experience.
- New Sunday service will begin.
- Additional service on weekdays and Saturdays will begin.
- 61B branch will be discontinued. Alternate service available via select connections with Route 30 at E. Hennepin Ave. and Hoover St. N.E.
ROUTE 64 (PDF)
- Schedule will be adjusted to reflect actual travel time.
- Afternoon trips from Johnson High School will extend to Maplewood Mall.
ROUTE 68 (PDF)
- Frequency will improve to every 15-minutes on weekdays and Saturdays between 5th Ave. & South St. and Jackson St. & 14th St. One trip per hour in the morning and afternoon periods will serve the Thompson Ave. branch and John Carroll and Nan McKay Hi-Rise.
- Route will be simplified to eliminate the M, E, F, and J branches.

- Route 74J trips will run every weekday during school year, not just school days.

ROUTE 534 (PDF)
- Routing will be adjusted with trips no longer traveling via 90th St., Poplar Bridge, and Collegeview Rd. Trips will travel via 98th S.t and Penn Ave. Service on Poplar Bridge, and Collegeview Rd. will be offered by Route 537.
- Service will improve to every 30-minutes all days of the week, with service restored on Saturday and Sunday.

- Routing will be adjusted on weekdays.
- Service will be realigned from France Ave. to Collegeview Rd. to replace service of Route 534.
- Frequency will improve to every 60-minutes on weekdays.
- Service will expand to between 7:30 to 5:30 p.m.
ROUTE 538 (PDF)
- Frequency will improve to every 30-minutes all day on weekdays.
- Direct service now made on all trips to Cub Foods, Target, 3400 Parklawn, and Knox Landing.
- 538B will be discontinued due to low ridership. Alternate service is available on Routes 5 and 540.
ROUTE 539 (PDF)
- Weekend trips will be added with more hours of 30-minute service. On Weekdays, trips will operate every 30-minutes until the end of service.
- Trips ending at Normandale College will turn into Route 546 trips to offer one-seat access to destinations like Normandale Village Shopping Center, and Valley West Shopping Center.
- All trips will have the same routing all days of week.
ROUTE 546 (PDF)
- Weekend trips will be added with more hours of 30-minute service. On Weekdays, service will to every 30 minutes during the midday and evening.
- New service will be offered on Old Shakopee Rd. west of France Ave. to Normandale Blvd., and on Normandale Blvd. from Old Shakopee Rd. to 98th St.
- Route will no longer travel on France Ave. Alternate service is available on Route 537 on weekdays.
- Rush-hour only service on Penn Ave., James Ave., and 94th St. will be discontinued. Alternate service on Penn Ave. will be available on Route 534 all days of the week and in some areas with Metro Micro service.
- All trips will have the same routing all days of week.
- Trips ending at Normandale College will turn into Route 539 trips to offer one-seat access to destinations like 98th St. Station and Mall of America.
- Routing through Valley West Shopping Center and Normandale Shopping Center will change to facilitate through trips.

- Span of service will increase on Saturday to start service one hour earlier in both directions and extend northbound service one hour later.

ROUTE 760 (PDF)
- Frequency will improve during morning and afternoon rush hours.
- Per Network Now, Route 760 will operate non-stop between 65th Ave. & Brooklyn Blvd. Park & Ride and downtown Minneapolis.
- Local service beyond the Park & Ride is discontinued.
- Access local alternative service on Broadway Ave., 85th Ave, Zane Ave., 63rd Ave., and Brooklyn Blvd. via Routes 722, 723, and 724 with connections at Brooklyn Center Transit Center to METRO C and D Lines.
- Trip times will be adjusted to better align with downtown work start and end times.
ROUTE 761
- Route will be discontinued per Network Now framework.
- North of Brooklyn Center Transit Center (BCTC), alternative service is available on Brookdale Dr., Noble Ave., and Xerxes Ave. via Routes 722, 723, and 724.
- South of BCTC, alternative service is available on Routes 5, 22, METRO C Line, and D Line. Access alternative express service to downtown from 65th Ave. & Brooklyn Blvd Park & Ride.
ROUTE 763 (PDF)
- Northbound trip will be added, departing 12th St. & Hennepin Ave. at 3:34 p.m.
- Trip times will be adjusted to better align with downtown work start and end times.
- Segment between France Ave. & 73rd Ave. and Xerxes Ave. & Xerxes Ct. will be discontinued.
ROUTE 765 (PDF)
- Route will be restored with two morning northbound trips and two afternoon southbound trips, serving Target (North Campus) work shifts starting at 7 and 8 a.m. and ending at 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.
ROUTE 766 (PDF)
- Route 766G branch trips will be replaced by 766F trips, so all trips travel via 97th Ave., Noble Pkwy., W River Rd., 117th Ave., and Business Park Blvd.
- Trip times will be adjusted to better align with downtown work start and end times.
ROUTE 768 (PDF)
- Frequency will improve to every 15-minutes during rush hours and every 60-minutes during the midday.
