Protect Your Mobile Device

Protecting Cell Phones and Mobile Devices

You can help avoid thefts of cell phones and mobile devices on Metro Transit

Safety Tips

  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • Avoid the attention of thieves by keeping calls brief and quiet
  • "Grab and Go" is a technique used by thieves. As a bus or train comes to a stop, make sure to secure your phone – especially near vehicle doors.
  • Don't lend your phone to anyone you don't know

Take Precaution

  • Register your device and keep a detailed description including its serial number, color and model
  • Use password protection
  • Consider installing anti-theft or tracking apps

If You See Something, Say Something

  • Immediately report any suspicious or prohibited activity to your bus driver, with callboxes on trains or platforms, or by calling Metro Transit Police
  • For emergencies, call 911
  • For non-emergencies, contact Metro Transit Police at 612-349-7200
  • To leave a tip for Metro Transit Police, call 612-349-7222 or use the online form
