I-35E Park & Rides
To improve transit access for commuters in the northeast metro, Metro Transit is opening two new Park & Rides with express service to downtown St. Paul along the Interstate 35E corridor. The Park & Rides are scheduled to open on Monday, Dec. 15. Each location will include 300 surface parking spaces, waiting shelters, lighting and bike racks.
Route 275 will be combined with Route 285 to improve the frequency of service to all customers using these new Park & Rides. Route 275 will provide weekday service during the morning and afternoon peak periods. There will be six trips to downtown St. Paul each morning and seven trips from downtown St. Paul each afternoon. Half of these trips will also serve the Running Aces Park & Ride in Columbus and the Forest Lake Transit Center in Forest Lake. See a complete schedule here.
The Lino Park Park & Ride in Lino Lakes, St. Genevieve Catholic Church Park & Ride in Centerville, White Bear Lake Township Theatre Park & Ride and White Bear Lake Cub Foods Park and Ride will close on Friday, Dec. 12. Service on Centerville Road and on Main Street north of County Road 14 will be eliminated.
Locating the Park & Rides closer to I-35E will enable Metro Transit to concentrate and streamline express service. Commuters will also benefit from the future opening of MnPASS lanes on I-35E.
