Whether you’re returning to the office, commuting to school, or doing whatever in your life is important, Metro Transit is here to get where you want to go. 

As of April 18, 2022, the federal order requiring masks on transit is no longer in effect. The Center for Diseases Control and Prevention continues to recommend that masks be worn in indoor public transportation settings.

Metro Transit encourages all riders to travel responsibly to protect their health and the health of those around them. Do not use transit if you are ill and keep these practices in mind when you travel:

Spread out when possible on buses and trains and at stations and stops.

If you can, leave through the back door to reduce crowding at the front of the bus.

What we’re doing

  • Keeping it clean. Buses and trains are sanitized daily – every surface, every time. We use CDC-approved disinfectants with each cleaning. We've also upgraded air filters to improve air quality. 

  • Joining transit peers to continually improve. We’re part of the American Public Transportation Association’s Health & Safety Commitment, pledging to work together to follow industry best practices for a safer ride. 

  • Safeguarding and supporting staff. As we ask customers to avoid transit when they are ill, we also ask all our employees to be vigilant about their health and the health of those around them.
