Due to scheduled rail maintenance, buses will replace trains on the METRO Blue Line between the Mall of America and Fort Snelling stations between Friday, May 3, until Monday, May 13. The airport shuttle will continue to operate on all dates.
Replacement buses will pick up and drop off Blue Line customers near affected stations and operate on a similar schedule as trains.
To avoid transferring, customers who would normally use the 30th Avenue Park & Ride are encouraged to use the Fort Snelling Park & Ride.
Buses are replacing trains to allow for track replacement and signal improvements needed to keep Blue Line trains running reliably and safely.
Traffic impacts on 34th Avenue
Travel lanes may be closed on portions of 34th Avenue north of I-494 through Monday, May 20. Until construction is complete, motorists traveling to Terminal 2 should allow for extra travel time.
When necessary:
- Southbound motorists on 34th Avenue will be directed to I-494 West or Airport Lane.
- Motorists traveling south and east will be directed to 24th Avenue South and I-494 East.
- Northbound motorists traveling to Terminal 2 will be directed to Highway 5 and Post Road.
