What do you like about working at the Metro Transit Police Department?

I’ve been here about five years. I came here because of connections and the jurisdiction. We cover eight counties, so you get to move around a lot. Every day is different. There’s always something new, and you’re always learning.

You’re one of the beat officers on the Hamline/Midway beat. What do you like about this role?

The ability we have to help. Just being present makes a big difference in alleviating any worries people might have. I like feeling like we’re making that difference and I hope we can continue to be out there to hold things down.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I like to hunt a lot, both waterfowl and upland hunting. That’s my biggest passion. I try to get out most weekends. I have a three-year-old Labrador who I take out with me. One time I took her out upland hunting and she was able to locate three roosters in about 10 minutes, which is really good.
