10 Questions with Metro Transit - Sherita

Posted by Drew Johnson | Dec. 4, 2025

We hear and learn from our actual customers as they answer our "10 Questions with Metro Transit!" Today we meet Sherita!

How long have you been riding the bus or train?
Since as long as I can remember. It’s probably been since I was about 14, using it for school and work and to get to the mall and together with friends.

How often do you ride?
I live a block up from Prospect Park, so I take the METRO Green Line downtown and get on the Route 6 about three to four times a week to go to Minneapolis College where I am an undergraduate studying addiction counseling.

Favorite route(s)?
I do like the Green Line. I have been riding since it began service in 2014. I was really excited when the train started because I was working on that route in St. Paul. Before the Green Line, I had to take two to three buses to get to work. But I will soon have a new favorite. The E Line stop is literally outside the door of the college. That’s going to be a blessing! I work and go to school at the college. Right now, the Route 6 bus stop is a block and a half away, and the sidewalk isn’t always plowed to and from the college.

Why do you ride transit?
It’s cheaper than a car and cheaper than Uber, too. Also, it’s convenient. I can get on the Metro Transit website and type in an address, and it tells me the easiest way to go and when the bus will arrive.

What do you wish “first-timers” knew?
I would tell them to go ahead and give it a try. I've had good conversations with people and have met a lot of different people and had an opportunity to network.

Favorite destination?
To my house!

What do we (Metro Transit) get right?
I appreciate the bus drivers who are in good spirits, who say good morning or say this is your stop.

What can we do to improve?
Helping people who don’t know where they’re going, especially on buses. Some drivers don’t know.

Favorite onboard memory?
I’ve met a lot of good people on the bus and shared conversations. I have two children. When I get on my bus with my youngest, who is one, I get a lot of comments like “He’s so cute’ or they say I'm a good mother doing my best.

Favorite movie about transit?
