10 questions with Metro Transit - Emilie

Posted by Drew Kerr | March 5, 2026

We hear and learn from real customers as they answer our "10 Questions with Metro Transit!" Today we meet Emilie!

How long have you been riding the bus or train?

I have been using Metro Transit for seven years.

How often do you ride?

Several times a week. I ride the bus regularly because I am on several bus routes.

Favorite route(s)?

My favorite routes are the E Line, the 17 and 4.

Why do you ride transit?

I enjoy riding public transit because it’s efficient and cost effective. I save money by not having a vehicle, paying for gas, maintenance and insurance. And it’s an easy way to get around.

What do you wish “first-timers” knew?

I wish they knew how easy it is to ride public transit here and how accessible and expansive the system is.

Favorite destination?

I usually use it to run errands. As far as destinations go, it’s easy to get to libraries and shopping corridors.

What do we (Metro Transit) get right?

I think the system works well for everyone. It’s inclusive. For people with limited mobility, it seems to work well. Metro Transit is making efforts to have bus lines run more frequently.

What can we do to improve?

It would be nice to have more bus stops with shelters, especially with heaters. I would like it if it was easier to get to destinations that are a little off the beaten path without having to take multiple transfers.

Favorite onboard memory?

I have had some really friendly drivers over the years. I love it when the bus drivers recognize me. It seems they always have a kind word to say.

Favorite movie about transit?

“Planes, Trains and Automobiles.”
