On Dec. 5, Metro Transit will make changes to transit service throughout the metro. As always, these quarterly service changes are being made to ensure we’re providing reliable service that meets your needs.

The improvements are part of an ongoing effort to expand access and adapt service based on changes in travel patterns. The improvements are outlined in the agency’s Network Now framework, informed by rider and community feedback.

Some highlights this quarter include:

• Return to regular routing with schedule improvements on many routes post-construction season.

• METRO E Line northbound weekday trips will leave Southdale Transit Center 2-6 minutes earlier between 9:50 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

• NEW Route 71E trips will serve Co. Rd. E Park & Ride via Edgerton St.

• Route 18 returns to Nicollet Ave.

• Routes 65 & 87 will begin 30-minute service on Sundays.

• Schedule will be adjusted due to the suspension of construction of Cedar Ave. between Lake St. E. and Franklin Ave. E. during winter.

• Buses will travel on Nicollet Ave from Lake St. to 26th/28th St.

• Buses will no longer travel on 1st Ave S, Blaisdell Ave, or W 29th St.
