2026 Proposed Update
Metro Transit is proposing an update to Network Now that focuses primarily on two key corridors in the west metro, as well as updating the implementation end date to 2028 based on available operator resources.
Further development of corridor plans will:
Improve the connecting bus plan to support a 2027 launch of Green Line Extension
Provide a substantial increase in proposed Highway 55 service and significant increase in connecting service

Background: Network Now Framework (2025)
During the public feedback period for the Network Now Draft concept plan, Metro Transit received nearly 1,600 comments. We heard that people overall like the direction of the plan. In particular, people we heard from indicated support for:
Investments in the METRO network, speed and reliability initiatives, and in demonstrated markets where ridership can grow
Emphasis on all-day service meeting a variety of needs and route simplification
Desire for express service that operates for more of the day, giving people more options
Many of the comments received included requests for transit improvements. People primarily requested:
More frequency, late-night service, and suburb-to-suburb connections
Additional microtransit services
Changes from the concept plan include frequency improvements on 48 routes, restoration of seven routes, and adding significant new coverage on three routes.

Foundation Report (2022-2023)
To initially develop the plan, Metro Transit developed a set of principles, engaged the community on values, and reviewed current policy guidance and performance.
Metro Transit used the decision-making principles from the Foundation Report as planning guidance to adapt the network and prioritize resources, identifying service improvements that reflect our priorities.
