How to Ride

We are committed to providing a consistently safe, clean, and welcoming experience on our system. You must pay for your ride BEFORE you board, then wait for your train and take a seat. Transit Rider Investment Program (TRIP) Agents will randomly ask for proof of fare payment.

Paying for your ride

METRO Green Line fares are $2 at all times, the same as local buses and other METRO lines.

To buy a single ride, use cash or a credit/debit card at a station’s ticket machine. You can also buy right from your phone using the free Metro Transit app.

If you’ll ride regularly, get the convenience of a Go-To Card, available online and from dozens of retail outlets.

Discounted passes are available to qualifying low-income households, and through participating employers and schools.

Riding the train

To ensure everyone’s ride is comfortable, follow our Code of Conduct and enjoy the trip!

Pay your fare BEFORE the train arrives, then stand back from the platform’s edge until it pulls up. When the doors open, wait for others to exit then board and take a seat! Trains stop at every station.

Safety

The safety of our customers, employees, and neighbors is our highest priority. Stay off the tracks, cross tracks only at designated crossings, and stay alert anytime you’re near a train or tracks.
