Gold Line Construction

Work to extend the METRO Gold Line to downtown Minneapolis began on August 3rd and will run through the end of 2026. Two new stations with heating and lighting, real-time signs, and ticket machines are being built near the intersection of Interstate 94 and Snelling Avenue. When construction is complete, staff will begin work to test station amenities over the winter and complete any remaining landscaping work in 2027.

What can customers and residents expect?

  • The Route 94 bus stops on St. Anthony Ave and Concordia Ave have been temporarily relocated to nearby locations during construction

  • Street parking will not be available near the temporary Route 94 bus stops during construction

  • Temporary traffic control zones are in place at the construction sites on St. Anthony Ave and Concordia Ave to reorient traffic and protect pedestrians and crews

  • Nearby residents can expect short-term interruptions to utilities (i.e. water and gas) and sidewalk access

Construction work will occur Monday – Saturday from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and includes noise, vibration, dust, and crew presence in the area
