Yarn Bus

Title: Yarn Bus

Artist: Knitteapolis

Material: Yarn

In 2016, Knitteapolis contacted Metro Transit because she wanted to “yarn bomb” a city bus. The handrails were wrapped in green yarn and dotted with a colorful array of knitted leaves, flowers, mushrooms, and vines that gave the bus a forested feel. Much of the work, coordinated by Knitteapolis, was done by The Minnesota Machine Knitters Guild and the Minnesota Knitters Guild. The art was displayed for two months. Read more at Riders Almanac.
