Mobility Hub Pilot

Metro Transit is piloting mobility hubs at three transit centers to increase multimodal connections made at these facilities. By improving and consolidating travel options like bikeshare, scooter share, and carshare, these hubs help you complete the first and last mile of your trip. The goal is to launch these mobility hubs in 2026. Continue to check back for additional information as the project moves forward.

Mobility hubs help people connect to different types of transportation in a comfortable and convenient place. Hubs will offer a variety of amenities based on what services are in your area.

  • Maplewood Mall Transit Center

Hub elements may include:

  • Electric Vehicle (EV) carshare
  • Micromobility parking
  • Bikeshare
  • Seating
  • Improved wayfinding

What is a Mobility Hub?

A place where people can connect to multiple modes of transportation to make their trip as safe, convenient, and reliable as possible. This could include: 

  • EV carshare charging and vehicles  
  • Micromobility parking 
  • Technology: interactive screens, wayfinding aids  
  • Beacons 
  • Wayfinding projectors 
  • Air quality monitoring 
  • Placemaking/amenities 
  • Solar benches 
  • Signage 
  • Public art 

Why is shared mobility important?

Shared mobility is about providing a multitude of options so people can leave their vehicles behind, and so those without a car have full access to their community. Transit is the backbone of our multimodal system. Having a suite of options available to people can make them more comfortable traveling without a vehicle.
