These roles are full-time and may include premium pay for overnight shifts (shift differentials) depending on position. Hiring bonuses may be available for select roles – see each position for details. Pay varies by role.

Maintenance of Way Positions
Track Maintainer
Track Maintainers inspect, repair, and replace track components to keep the light rail system safe and reliable.
Pay: Start at $39.69 per hour, earn up to $42+/hour with shift differentials, $4,000 hiring bonus.
Traction Power Maintainer
Traction Power Maintainers service overhead catenary wire systems, traction power systems including substations, and power distribution equipment to ensure safe and reliable operations. This role upholds the highest standards of maintenance for Maintenance of Way facilities, tunnels, and passenger stations.
Pay: Start at $53.26 per hour, earn up to $56+/hour with shift differentials, $4000 hiring bonus.
Rail Vehicle & Systems Maintenance Positions
Signals Technician
We are seeking independent self-starters with strong electrical-mechanical backgrounds to maintain Metro Transit’s light rail signal systems. Up to 60% of this work is performed outdoors in a field service setting in all weather.
Pay: Start at $40.70 per hour, earn up to $43+/hour with shift differentials, $4,000 hiring bonus.

SCADA/Communications Electronic Technician
Maintain and troubleshoot rail communications and control systems that support safe operations (including SCADA-related systems and subsystems).
Pay: Start at $42.01 per hour, work shifts are first and second shifts and could include weekends and holidays.
Electro-Mechanic Technician
Electro-Mechanic Technicians diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on Metro Transit vehicles and equipment, including light rail trains depending on assignment.
Pay: Start at $40.70 per hour, earn up to $43+/hour with shift differentials, $4,000 hiring bonus, and $1,500 initial tool allowance upon completion of probation.
Train Operators & Service Positions
Train Operator
Train Operators operate light rail trains safely, smoothly, and on time while providing clear customer announcements and support during service disruptions.
Pay: Start at $29.70 per hour, earn up to $31+/hour with shift differentials. Eligible new hires also receive a hiring bonus: $3,000 or $5,000 hiring bonus based on CDL status at time of hire.
LRT Helper
LRT Helpers support rail service with vehicle readiness work such as cleaning, light service support, and safe operations support in rail environments. Work shifts for new employees are typically third shift.
Pay: Start at $24.36 per hour, earn up to $26+/hour with shift differentials
Rail Cleaner
Cleaner positions keep trains ready for service with cleaning during service hours and at rail facilities.
Pay: Start at $23.39 per hour, earn up to $25+/hour with shift differentials

Leadership & Supervisory Positions
Rail Maintenance Supervisor
Provide leadership, direction, and coordination in the Maintenance department. This role also supports Metro Transit’s transportation department by maintaining the light rail fleet to agency standards.

This position implements technician training and reviews new equipment installations and design specifications. This role provides added oversight to ensure safe, effective, and compliant traction power operations.

SCADA Communication Supervisor
The SCADA Communications Supervisor oversees preventive maintenance, resolves system issues, and manages technician coordination and spare‑parts inventory. This role also supports equipment lifecycle planning and ensures quality field supervision, inspections, and training.
