Route 14 – Better Bus Route
Route 14 is a local bus route providing service from 66th St. in Richfield through downtown Minneapolis to Robbinsdale Transit Center, primarily along Bloomington Ave., West Broadway, and 6th and 7th streets through downtown Minneapolis.
Metro Transit is improving service on Route 14 in 2026. In addition to general improvements, Route 14 changes include:
Consolidating bus stops for up to quarter-mile spacing to increase trip efficiency - began June 13, 2026
Routing changes to speed up travel and improve schedule reliability - starting Aug. 22
Restructured/simplified routing in Crystal, Golden Valley, and Robbinsdale
All trips will remain on West Broadway between Washington Ave. and Robbinsdale Transit Center
All non-school trips start/end at 66th St. and Richfield Pkwy. in Richfield
Route 14E will be eliminated. One morning southbound trip and one afternoon northbound trip will operate between downtown Minneapolis and 28th Ave. and 40th St., school days only, serving Roosevelt HS, marked as Route 14S.
Service in Richfield will shift to Richfield Pkwy. between 63rd and 66th streets
Route 48 is a new local route that will replace Route 14D on Noble Ave., 36th Ave. N., Douglas Dr., and Duluth/Golden Valley Rd. The route will continue from Golden Valley Rd. to Penn Ave., Glenwood Ave. and into downtown Minneapolis. Service will be available hourly all days of the week. See Route 48 map
Adjusting the schedule - starting Aug. 22
Weekday service will improve to every 15 minutes between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Departure times adjusted all days of the week
Expanding the no-parking zone to ensure buses can fully pull to the curb at the bus stop
Installing concrete pads to improve accessibility for customers
