Starting June 12, 2027, the METRO Green Line will more than double in length. Starting at St. Paul’s Union Depot, the line will provide service all the way to SouthWest Station in Eden Prairie.
Along the extended 25.5-mile route, Green Line will deliver new transit opportunities for communities, and expand access to thousands of employers, restaurants, cultural destinations, and more.

Since opening in 2014 the Green Line has provided service between Target Field in Minneapolis and Union Depot in St. Paul. Plan your trip today!
The extended Green Line will connect to the existing line at Target Field Station and serve five new Minneapolis stations – Royalston / Farmers Market, Bassett Creek Valley, Bryn Mawr, West 21st Street, and West Lake Street.
This community hosts many residential, retail, and education destinations. New stations along the extended Green Line include Beltline Boulevard Station, Wooddale Avenue Station, and Louisiana Avenue Station, just north of Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital.
Hopkins is home to Blake Road, Downtown Hopkins, and Shady Oak stations, serving major employers and schools.
Opus Station serves the bustling Opus business park, as well as a trail network.
Stations in Eden Prairie include City West, Golden Triangle, and Eden Prairie Town Center. The Green Line’s new western end point is at SouthWest Station in Eden Prairie, which features a large Park & Ride ramp.

Fares
For just $2 ($1 for eligible riders) you can ride for 2.5 hours, including transfers to and from connecting bus service. Transfers to express buses cost a little more.
Riding the train
Arrive at your Green Line station, pay your fare, then wait for your train to pull up. So simple! Trains come so often you don’t need a schedule.
How to pay
You must pay your fare BEFORE riding. Buy a ticket from station’s machine or from the Metro Transit app or tap a pass to the card reader. Coming soon: Pay with the tap of a credit card or your mobile wallet!

7 new Park & Ride locations
Ditch the gridlock and leave your car at a nearby Park & Ride lot. There will be 2,500+ free parking spaces at seven Green Line stations between Eden Prairie and Minneapolis.
Connecting bus service
New and updated bus routes will connect residential areas with the Green Line when it opens. You can also book a curb-to-curb ride using Metro micro, a shared-ride minibus service, through the micro app at select stations.
