Careers
Metro Transit hires Bus Operators (bus drivers) for full-time and part-time roles.
The difference is your schedule after training.
Every role includes:
Paid CDL training and testing after hire
Schedules and garage assignments based on operational needs and union seniority
Access to a two-year Apprenticeship Program leading to a journeyworker certificate
Starting pay is $29.70/hour for all roles and a hiring bonus based on your CDL status. If you work second or third shift, you’ll earn up to $31.78/hour.
Seniority accumulates slowly, and competition for daytime routes and preferred locations is strong. It's common to spend a few years earning seniority to bid for traditional daytime ("first shift") hours.
