Additional Metro Transit resources

Rideshare

Rideshare

Thousands of commuters across the Twin Cities use Metro Transit Rideshare to find others with whom to carpool and vanpool to work or school. Benefits of sharing the ride include free use of dedicated lanes on freeways and on-ramps and free, discounted and preferred parking areas for registered carpools and vanpools.

In 2009, registered Rideshare participants reduced driving miles by nearly 40 million miles — conserving about 2 million gallons of fuel.

Bicycling

Bike plus bus

Metro Transit offers a variety of resources for bicyclists. Secure, weatherproof bike lockers are available throughout the region at rail stations, Park & Rides and other locations. Also, every vehicle in Metro Transit's fleet has onboard bicycle racks. Customers have faster access to more transit connections by bicycle than on foot — the ability to bring a bicycle aboard the bus or train provides you with this advantage on both ends of your trips. Bicycling to transit instead of driving is an exceptionally clean — and green — way to go.
