Each fare includes a 2½ hour transfer, except a Downtown Zone fare. Some transfers require an additional fare such as transferring from a bus to Northstar.

Reduced Fares
Please tell the bus driver before you pay your fare if you qualify for a fare listed below. On trains, be ready to show Transit Police that you qualify for the reduced fare. You are eligible for a Reduced Fare Go-To Card, available by mail order.

Seniors (65+): To qualify, show a Minnesota driver's license/state ID with a "T" endorsement. (?)

Youth: Ages 6-12 qualify for a reduced fare.

Medicare card holders: to qualify, show a Medicare card along with a Minnesota driver's license/state ID.

Persons with Disabilities: To qualify, show your Metro Mobility card or transfer, Metro Transit temporary ID with a photo ID or Minnesota driver's license/state ID with an "A" or "L" endorsement. For information on certification, call Customer Relations at 612-373-3333. Once you receive certification, you are eligible for the Mobility Go-To Card, available by mail order.

Children: Ages 5 and under ride free (limit 3) when accompanied by a paid fare.

Downtown Zone: The fare for rides within the Minneapolis or St. Paul Downtown Zones is 50 cents at all times. Transfers are not available with Downtown Zone fares.

Young Adults: Students and workers age 13-17 may qualify for a discounted Young Adult Card -- contact your school or employer.

Disabled Veterans: Disabled veterans ride free by showing a Veteran's Identification Card issued by a VA Medical Center with the words "Service Connected" or "SC" below the photo. Call 612-467-1991 or visit the VA website for details. (Not valid on special service like State Fair)
To receive an ID with "T" endorsement, seniors age 65 and older should fill out a driver's license renewal form at any Driver and Vehicle Services office. On the form, check the box near the limited mobility box that certifies your age and requests the "T" endorsement.
