Going to the Living Green Expo?
Ride FREE with your Go Greener Pass
Learn how to live a better, healthier life with less impact on the environment at the Living Green Expo. The free event, set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 3–4 at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, connects people who are interested in taking action about living greener.
Metro Transit is making it easy for you to reduce your impact on the environment on your way to and from the event! Leave your car at home and hop on a bus or train FREE between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day when you show a Go Greener Pass. Download and print your pass here.
At the event, look for the Metro Transit booth, which will offer information about forming carpools, resources for bicycling and assistance in planning your trips on buses and trains. Show your Go Greener Pass and you’ll be eligible to win prizes! You can take the Commuter Challenge, too. Once you’re at the fairgrounds, you can tour a hybrid bus, one of the more than 150 hybrids Metro Transit is adding in the coming years.
In keeping with the eco-friendly event, Metro Transit on May 3–4 will buy enough wind power through Xcel Energy’s Windsource® program to offset power of the Hiawatha light-rail line.
Getting there
Routes 3 and 84 serve the State Fairgrounds. Since all Metro Transit buses and trains have bicycle racks, you can pedal for part of your trip and ride for the rest.
