As you get on the bus, drop your money in the farebox next to the driver. Fareboxes accept dollar bills, coins or tokens, but change is not available. SuperSaver Stored Value Cards, 31-Day Passes also may be used to pay your fare. Insert them (arrow pointing down) into the reader next to the farebox. If you have a Go-To Card, Metropass, U-Pass or Go-To College Pass, touch it to the Go-To circle on the blue card reader as you board. You can use a SuperSaver 31-Day Pass on a train as long as it has been activated on a bus. SuperSaver Stored Value Cards cannot be used on trains unless accompanied by a valid bus transfer. If your trip begins on a bus, you can use a Stored Value Card; however, to transfer to light rail, you must ask the bus driver for a rail-only transfer. |
Light-rail fares are the same as bus fares. For a single ride, use cash or credit card to buy a ticket at the machine on the station platforms. You must buy your ticket BEFORE boarding the train. (You cannot buy tickets on the train.) Another option is a Monthly Pass, which gives you unlimited train rides — at any time of day — for a calendar month. A Monthly Pass is also valid for $2.00 toward bus fare. You must pay any express or rush-hour charges on the bus in cash. |
