NW Metro Transit Restructuring Plan

The Northwest Metro Transit Restructuring Plan is underway – a project to improve service in the area west of the Mississippi River and north of Highway 55.
Cities in the study area include Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Champlin, Crystal, Golden Valley, Maple Grove, New Hope, north Minneapolis, Osseo, Plymouth and Robbinsdale.
The project's first phase starts June 2 Metro Transit has met with community leaders and elected officials to review a Concept Plan, which was the subject of public hearings in May and June of 2006. Feedback from more than 1,100 comments was reviewed and incorporated into the Final Plan that was approved by the Metropolitan Council on Dec. 13, 2006. See the timetable.
While the plan focuses on what can be implemented beginning in 2007, planners are pursuing possible links with the proposed Bottineau Boulevard bus rapid transit line.
