Commute with pedal power!

It’s good for you, your pocketbook and the environment.

Join Bike2Benefits and see how rewarding it is to commute with pedal power. Just bicycle to work or to a transit stop once a week over eight weeks instead of driving alone – it's that easy! Complete the program and you could win great prizes.

Choose any consecutive eight-week period to start commuting by bicycle – begin by Nov. 15, 2009, to be eligible for the 2009 year-end prize drawing. Track your trips and mileage at this website. We'll send you a monthly e-newsletter with tips and news (read archives here). When you complete the program, you will automatically be entered in our year-end prize drawing. You'll also receive a Twin Cities Bike Map (while supplies last). Once your eight weeks are over, continue tracking your commutes and you'll be eligible for even more incentives!

Bike2Benefits is open to anyone 18 or older who lives and works in these counties: Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott or Washington. There is no fee to participate.

Bicycle to work or to a transit stop once a week over eight weeks instead of driving alone and track your trips on the online calendar. You're automatically entered into the prize drawing when you track your trips online.

I live far from work. Can I still participate?

Yes, you can. All Metro Transit buses and trains have onboard racks, so you can bicycle for part of the way to work and take transit for the rest. Here’s another option: pedal to work and take transit home or vice versa. There are many ways to complete your trips.
