Training

Once hired as a Metro Transit driver, you'll have full access to a range of professional support tools, including:

  • Apprenticeship programs
  • Ongoing Learning and Organization Development training
  • Peer support groups

In addition to the paid training to receive your CLP and CDL, you'll be automatically enrolled in the Bus Operator Apprenticeship program, which assists individuals with no prior experience or technical degree in becoming a skilled and confident bus driver. Throughout this two-year program, apprentices will receive on-the-job training, job shadowing, peer-to-peer mentorship, and will develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in their new career.
