Do you qualify for Best Workplaces for Commuters?

-
Transit passes
-
Vanpool subsidies
-
Telework program
If you answered yes to any of these options, your organization might qualify for the national designation of Best Workplaces for Commuters. The program, developed by the federal Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Transportation, honors companies that meet certain requirements for helping their employees get to work without driving solo.
What the designation means for your company
By earning a spot on the Best Workplaces for Commuter list, your company will:
-
Be viewed as a leader in employee benefits
-
Receive local and national recognition for being a great place to work
-
Gain a competitive advantage in recruiting and retaining the best employees
-
Demonstrate a commitment to your employees, community and a cleaner environment
How to qualify
To qualify, employers must offer its workers at least one commuter benefit from those listed above. In addition, the designation requires employers to offer at least three secondary benefits such as ridesharing or carpool matching, preferred or reduced-cost parking for carpools and vanpools or compressed work schedules. Finally, Best Workplaces for Commuters offer access to an Emergency Ride Home, which provides employees with a ride at little or no cost if they need to get home in an emergency.
Your Metro Transit or local TMO representative can help you with the application process.
