January 2009Our online Rideshare Planner now has more toolsWe’ve beefed up our rideshare planning tools and made them even easier to use. The enhanced features of our Rideshare Planner give your employees more ways to help find others who want to share the ride. Take a look at some of the enhancements: Improved mapping. Once information about a commute is provided, users can easily see the home locations and work destinations of potential carpool and vanpool matches displayed on a map. Vanpoolers also can view the route they take, including pick-up locations along the way. Trip Matching. This new feature connects those interested in sharing the ride to events, concerts or other one-time trips. If your organization has multiple work sites, you can use this tool to help employees carpool to meetings at other locations. Commute Calendar. Your employees can use this feature to log their work commutes. Each time a commuter shares the ride, the calendar tracks how many vehicle miles have been saved, along with reductions in pollution and greenhouse gases. As an added bonus, we’ll provide incentives to those who track their progress on the calendar during programs like the Commuter Challenge.
