Audio bus notification

Many buses operating on Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis provide audio messages about their location to customers both inside and outside of the bus.

As the bus approaches a bus stop or intersection, it provides an audio message about cross-streets and connecting routes. This information also appears on a visual display inside the bus. Customers outside the bus hear a message including the route number and destination.

In coming months, this technology will be added to more routes throughout the region.
