Some LRT service interrupted this weekend

Planned maintenance will shut down a portion of the south end of the Hiawatha Line starting at roughly 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12.

During the first part of the service interruption, Route 55 buses will substitute for light-rail trains between Airport Terminal 2–Humphrey Station and Mall of America Station. Trains will operate normally elsewhere on the 12-mile line.

The first part of the work should be complete by 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13.

These light-rail stations will close during the maintenance work: American Boulevard Station, Bloomington Central Station, 28th Avenue Station and Mall of America Station.

Train service will be restored at 2 p.m. on Saturday from Airport Terminal 2–Humphrey Station to 28th Avenue Station; however, Route 55 bus service will continue between 28th Avenue Station and Mall of America Station through 3:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 15.

Rider Alerts will be posted at stations with details and station-specific maps (see below) to direct customers to Route 55 bus service. Metro Transit staff will be on hand at key rail stations to direct customers to bus service.

Customers can learn of any last-minute changes to the planned work by calling the Rail Maintenance Hotline at 612-373-3333, option 6.
